Seriously...

OK. I spent most of last evening and today on the phone taking orders, getting emailed orders, and meeting with you to pick your 16x20s for the summer special. I delivered said orders to the color lab at 4:36 (having received the last one at 3:55). As I sighed with relief and handed over the stack of orders, he smiled at me and said, "Oh, you didn't have to rush. The summer special went so well that we are extending it until September 1."

Seriously... are you kidding me??? :)

Here's the good news, for those of us who rushed the orders in-- our beautiful pictures will be ready next week!!!

Here's the better news, for those of you who missed the deadline-- you have another chance!!! Procrastinators, take heart!!!

Here's the AWESOME news for those of you who have sessions scheduled for the next few weeks (and those of you who WILL BE SCHEDULING A SESSION IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS!)-- you get to get in on the deal too!!!

And REALLY, technically, it is a summer special and summer doesn't actually end until September. It's only the school system who's got it wrong, right?

So for real this time, last possible chance, 16x20s for $20 until September 1. I have to have the orders by Wednesday, August 27 to have time to get them ready. OK?

Hat Tricks

I had such fun with Whitney, a graduate from Cleveland Christian. You can tell from the hat outfit that she has her own style! She brought along little sisters Grace (our own "smile whisperer") and Megan, along with Mom and Grandmom. I was happy that we were able to talk all but Grandmom into one picture all together with their proud graduate! Whitney, good luck in college (SO far away!), enjoy your pictures. (And thanks to the mom of one of my spring seniors, Kendra, for referring Whitney's family!)

The Blues...

This one was a favorite of a few of them...
This is Mom's favorite (and mine!)...
We thought this one turned out especially cute!

This family was certainly NOT singing the blues! They were hilarious with each other, as I should have expected, knowing Arden practically my whole life from church. I have photographed his daughter, Aerial, before, but this time I got a chance to meet his brothers and sisters and his sweet mom. I think my favorite moment was when they were trying to decide on their (CHEAP) big 16x20 and they asked their mom which one (of two) she preferred. She called one out, then the kids asked to see the other one. Arden's sister said, "Let's see that other one in case we have to tell Mom which one she prefers." Guess what? Mom got her pick! :)

Pretty, Pretty Princesses!

Our little cousin had her 5th birthday party at a very cool place in downtown Cleveland called The Princess Parlor. The girls had such great fun getting their hair and nails done, riding around downtown in a carriage, enjoying tea and cupcakes, dancing, and opening presents. I just had to put some of these adorable shots on here. If you have a little princess in your life, this is a GREAT place to have a party. Even better, mom doesn't have to do ANYTHING! :)

Happy #5, Kassidy!!!

All Grown Up

Tonight I got to spend time having the most fun with a great family! I have always loved Debbie and had met her nice husband, Scott. I did Haley's Sweet Sixteen session but I do not remember ever having met Jeremy, his wife Katie, or Ryan. Debbie wanted to do a session with her "all grown up" family now that all are out of high school. I have to say, these guys were so sweet. Like I told my mom, knowing Debbie it shouldn't have surprised me at all, but these kids were some of the kindest and most fun people I have met in a long time. They really seem like they all have such a great time together. It's not often that I pine for my own two to be grown, but I think I got a glimpse tonight of how much fun it probably is to enjoy your "all grown up" children!

The Eleventh Hour

OK, guys, really... THE LAST POSSIBLE CHANCE... for a 16x20 for $20! I have heard from so many of you who are trying to decide which picture(s) you want to order... this IS the eleventh hour! I have to have the order to the color lab by Thursday, July 31 at 8:00 AM. SO, I need to hear from you by Wednesday night, July 30 at 11:00 PM. :) Don't miss this awesome opportunity! (I turned in my own order of eleven of them this week!) 284-3755 or athena-davisphotography@yahoo.com!!! (The picture is just one of my favorites from our Bear Paw week!)

Band of Brothers

These three brothers are one wisecrack after another! :) These guys kept me (and their mom) laughing the whole session. I can imagine that life in their household has probably always been active! But really, I have to say that I am terribly impressed that they were so kind to their mom to come and spend a Sunday afternoon taking pictures for her. The first picture here is my absolute favorite from the session. I have gotten to photograph Tyler and Chris before, but this was Josh's first "shoot" with me. I know it wasn't Stone Mountain, boys, but hopefully it was fun at times! :) Thanks, Junelle, for being such a great (repeat!!!) customer!

The Family that Plays Together...

Stays Together! And I have to say, I have not photographed many families who play so well together! These guys go to church with me and they are such good friends and kind people. We shot this session on the lake VERY late at night, right after sunset, actually. The lighting was great and the lake looked almost fake, it was so beautiful! Thanks so much for asking me, friends!

Nana's Seven

This session was a Nana's dream... all seven grandkids in one place, (mostly) happy, dressed in their favorite Tennessee orange! We weren't sure how well it could possibly go with seven children ranging in age from 6 months to 12 (and five of the seven under 5!!!), but the kids did very well. We just had to go with the flow, a bit. (Playground break, etc!) Here are a couple of my favorites, guys.

One Year and Lots of Rodeos Later...

At the beach, I got to take some anniversary pictures of Natalie and Josh. I can't believe it's been a year since their wedding! They have had a busy (and fun) year with each other. It's cool seeing your little sister as a grown-up! :)

Sunshine and Summertime

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a beach photography ADDICT!!! We took a quick vacation a few weeks ago and here are some of my favorites from our beach shoots!

Baby Kaleb

We were so excited to get to see our new baby nephew when we went to West Virginia a few weeks ago. He is so precious and sweet!!! I got to do a session with them before we left as our new baby gift to them. I didn't want to post many, but this was one of my favorites. We did them in their home and they were very informal. Love you guys!

Mountain River

Kraig grew up on a river in West Virginia, the Bluestone River. I wanted some pictures of the girls on that river, so on our last visit, we did a quick session down there. They loved playing in the water in between pictures!
