Here's to the Birthday Boy Who Saved Our Lives

"We get so caught up in all of it
Business and relationships
Hundred mile an hour lives
And it's this time of year
And everybody's here
It seems the last thing on your mind

Is that the day holds something special
Something holy, not superficial
So here's to the Birthday Boy who saved our lives
Christmas must be something more."
~Taylor Swift

On this evening before the world actually stops to recognize a little baby, born in a manger, worshipped by shepherds and guarded by oxen, heralded by angels and cared for by teenagers, I want to say how awed I am that He cares for me, in my crazy life, too busy sometimes to thank Him and often too preoccupied to even see His hands. Lord and Savior, King of the World, Light of the Darkness, Giver of Good Things, Prince of Peace-- I love and honor you on this evening of calm in the midst of craziness. Thank you for all You have done for me. Thank you for who you are. And I will remember Whose I am.

Merry Christmas to You and Yours, from Davis Photography

Feeling Overwhelmed?

Are there people you still need to rush out and buy for or is there someone you forgot? There is still time for a Davis Photography Gift Certificate. Just give me a call today (284-3755) and I can have one ready for you to pick up! I probably should have posted this earlier but time got away from me as well and I didn't even think of it until someone called yesterday to get one! :)

All I Want for Christmas

Is These Two Sweet Things!

Even though I felt terrible today, these dresses were the outfits I had saved for the girls' formal Christmas pictures. So.... I drug my poor, sick, medicated body downstairs to the studio to quickly snap a couple of shots of them in their adorable dresses when they got home from church. These two make Christmas, every other holiday, and every day a pleasure and adventure for Kraig and I. We are truly blessed.

Santa... Daddy???

The Garcia family-- Jay, Jessica, Jaylee, and Cameron-- came over yesterday to do a last-minute mini-Christmas session. These kids are so pleasant and they are SO easily entertained! (Of course, living with Jay, entertainment comes cheap in that household, I feel sure...) :) We laughed (and danced and sang!) a lot during our time together and I am so glad we got to do some adorable Christmas shots! Thanks, guys!

Love is Kind...

And it agrees to photo sessions!

Kudos to Kevin, when Allison said she wanted to do some pictures, he agreed. Not only did he agree, he was most pleasant during the session, and actually enjoyed looking at himself at the two of them in the pictures. It was kind of a yucky day, but we still had a good time and certainly got some beautiful shots. Thanks, guys! I had a good time with you all! Nice to officially meet you, Kevin!

Twas the Fortnight Before Christmas...

And All in Their Union Suits, the Fergusen's Took Pictures!

This past weekend, we took some adorably cute pictures of the Fergusen family in their union suits in the hay in the barn! You might remember these guys from last Christmas, or Lillimarie from Easter... this was probably the most creative outfits of all, though, I have to admit. :) Thanks, guys!

Just to Prove that the Photographer Doesn't Even Always Get What She Wants....

This is the disastrous attempt at a Christmas picture for my grandparents. These are their nine great-grandchildren: Andrew, 14, Chloe, 11, Emma, 6, Kassidy, 6, Eli, 6, Elisha, 5, Kelsey, 4, Yasmine, 3, and Dylan, almost two. I wanted to frame a lovely enlargement of these dear children for Grandmother and Grandaddy for Christmas... whew. Looks like I'll be shopping for sweaters and bathrobes after all! :)

Silver Belles...

(I am trying not be boastful about the cleverness of my title of this post... but I can hardly help it. It's Christmas! Their last name is Silver! Wow!)

My Aunt Pam, who is a wonderful person, wants very little out of life. A comfy couch, occasional shopping, fun people in her life, and a good picture of her grandchildren once or twice a year. I only am responsible (with the assistance of said grandchildren) for delivering one of those things. I am afraid I failed came within half an hour of accomplishing that for her. However, it was not to be. Dylan was done. :) Each little grandchild unit went well-- Andrew and Eli, Chloe and Kassidy, and Elisha, Yasmine, and Dylan. It was just when we tried to put them all together that we got this...

And this....

It's okay, though. Because she loves them anyway, one and all. And they keep coming back. And the number keeps growing. And one day they will all be old enough to bribe/threaten/manipulate into maintaining a pose. :) And with a little creative photoshopping, you can make this...

Love you guys, all of you!!!

Sisters Deuce!

My last (I think?) mini-Christmas session was Sunday night with the Hensley sisters. Taylor and Hayley came over with the sweet mom (thanks, Jeff Buol!) for a fast set of Christmas pictures. Girls, I enjoyed meeting you and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, even in the freezing cold of Canada! :)

Sisterly Love

This fun group of gals came over on Sunday afternoon to freeze me to death keep me company! They are a group of four sisters and let me tell you, they love to have fun with each other and laugh! My favorite moment of the session is a tie between either the attempts to get two of them in the tree for a silly picture or the bright idea of ... Tina, I think?... for them to lay on the bridge upside down. If this weren't enough, Lisa added in the fun legs! :) We had a great time, even if we did freeze to death! Thanks Tammy, Tralissa, Tommie, and Tina!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot like Christmas!

Peyton and Caroline were over this summer for me to take some birthday pictures of Caroline. We had a really good time running around the field and creek and playing. Today we were held to the indoors, but we still managed to have fun playing ball with ornaments and playing a rousing game of hang-ornaments-on-the-tree. :) Tara, thanks for bringing them over and I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!

Three Tiny Reindeer ... and Mommy and Daddy Claus!

The Guffey family decided that their fall pictures last year weren't quite cold enough, so they wanted to do Christmas pictures this year. :) We nearly froze ourselves to death this morning (especially poor Brenden), but we got some really cute Christmas pictures. We wish the snow had stuck around, but we can't have it all. Brenden, Lylia, and Hailey, you make adorable reindeer and Stacey and Stacie, it was great taking pictures of you guys again! Have a wonderful Christmas!

White Christmas

The Vaughn family came over today for their annual Christmas card pictures. We have done these in 2008 and 2007 (before I had a blog). These kids are absolutely charming (although Elijah wasn't really sure about the whole process today!) and I am always happy to take their pictures. Thanks Paul, Amy, Isaac, Sarah, and Elijah! As Isaac said when you all left today, "See you next year!" :)

Looking Sharp(e)

This morning we had snow (yes, snow!) in Cleveland! And the Sharpe's Christmas session was just early enough to get some adorable snow pictures of Peyton. Then we went back inside into the warmth to include Brayden and get some adorable, adorable shots. We go to church with the Sharpe's (and I grew up with Jason) and we have enjoyed watching their family grow over the years. Glad you liked them, guys!
