Christmas in a Stable... No, Not That One

I have finally nailed down my plan for Christmas sessions. I am doing Christmas mini-sessions on December 4. These sessions will last around 30 minutes, no outfit changes. You will be able to choose a couple of different locations from the following: the stable/inside the barn, the fence, the field/red chair, or the shed (the red shed). Family groups are welcome, just children, couples, pets, etc. I am really excited about these, as they are much different than my typical Christmas sessions. I am calling this a Rustic Christmas. :) Stay tuned, because our family is doing ours within the next couple of days and you can see our sample shots. You can wear Christmas colors, regular clothes, dress up, dress down, pajamas, Santa hats, costumes... whatever you want.

So what do you get? And for how much? I'm glad you asked.

Sessions are $25. For that price, you will be able to select (from approximately 40-50 shots) an 8x10, a 5x7, 8 wallets, and 5 4x6s. Christmas cards are available or you can get a copyright release to one image for $10 to do your own cards.

Book quickly before the times are gone! Email (athenadavisphotography@yahoo.com) or facebook (Davis Photography) is the easiest way to reach me. If you want a full session or if you would prefer Wednesday, 11/24, I can possibly to a couple that day.

Smilin' in the Rain!

My daughter, Kelsey, had a very good friend in her preschool class named "Womanda". I thought Womanda was an odd name for a little girl, but you never do know, you know? Well, it turns out that little girl's name was Miranda and she and Kelsey were buddies throughout preschool. Miranda's mom had tried to do some extended family pictures this summer, but it was awfully hot, so we put it off. Well, today wasn't hot-- but it was pretty rainy. Lots of clouds, at one point lots of RAIN, but also lots of smiles and fun. I really am glad we went ahead with the session, even in the yuck, because it was great to get to know the Goff, Green, and Mason families. The pictures of Miranda and her cousin, Dawson, just melted my heart!!! Melanie, thanks for calling me and I hope all of you enjoy your pictures.

What Every Mother Wants for Her Birthday...

These kids are incredibly lucky. Their mother is even luckier. They have an Aunt Wanda who adores them and their mother has a sister who wanted to give her a very special birthday gift... so she had pictures done! These guys were soooo much fun to photograph (though still not as fun as they are to teach!). :) Kaylee is at Lee and Madison is in her senior year. I have taught them both and enjoyed them so much. Christian, the sole boy, is a freshman. Hopefully I will get to know him in class next year! I just love, love, love their pictures and I am so glad their mother was appropriately surprised and pleased!

McGuire Cuties Cubed

This adorable family goes to my church and I was really excited when Patrice asked me about doing pictures. Coleman is one of the most adorable little guys at South Cleveland, and his sister and brother, Jocelyn and Tanner, are SOOOO good with him. They are also really sweet kids who are just so even-tempered. Lucky for Dad, we even got Mom in on a shot or two! Guys, had so much fun, even if we were racing sunlight (and it won!).

So Long, High School!

Courtney's session was a while back but it took us a while to finally meet up and get the pictures chosen. I have gotten to take Courtney's prom pictures and I also did her Sweet Sixteen shots a couple of years ago. Courtney always has on cool shoes (!) and I have always really enjoyed her pleasant, laid-back personality. It seems hard to believe that it's been two years since I met her! Courtney, I know everyone is so proud of your time in high school and I hope that your senior year is wonderful! You are a sweet girl and I appreciate the opportunity to take your pictures!

Sweet, Sweet Ciara

Ciara is 16 and she came over on Monday afternoon to take her Sweet Sixteen shots. I just so enjoyed getting to know her and her sweet mama!!! They were such kind, polite people and her pictures are SO full of personality! Ciara brought her grandmother's red heels for some of her shots... in fact, Ciara wore three different pairs of shoes in the pictures! :) We had a great time and I hope you guys love your pictures.

Lucky

These two have been together.... I don't know... FOREVER!! At least the three years I have been doing their prom pictures! :) I have really enjoyed taking pictures of Nikki and Chris and this session was no exception. They are so protective of and gentle with each other and their chemistry shows in their shots. Guys, thanks for calling! :)

The Beginning of the End

Sunday afternoon, I had the privilege of taking Nikki's Senior pictures. She is such a beautiful girl and I have done her prom pictures for her sophomore and junior years. This session was extra fun because she brought along a few special people and took some shots with them (another post on that to come!). It is obvious what kind of girl Nikki is when you see how much her family and friends dote on her. Relationships say a lot about people! Nikki, I hope you love your pictures!!!

Everything looks Better in Autumn-- but not Everyone is Happier

I have owed the Garcia family a photo session for half of forever. Since March to be exact... but who's counting? :) We had a good time (even though little Cameron was not completely happy the whole time!) getting some adorable pictures. I have always had so much fun with Jay and Jessica and their little family! I laugh more than perhaps anyone else I have been around. I loved taking your pics, as always, Garcia family!!! :)

The Sweet, Sweet Chapman Family (subtitled: "Where's Aspen???"

Yesterday afternoon, I got to take pictures of a colleague of mine... someone who teaches with me, someone with whom I share mutual students, someone I spend every single day in the same building with, and someone who parks in the same lot I do. However, aside from one brief meeting and a few emails scheduling pictures, I had never gotten to talk to Katherine at all. Boy have I been missing out! This gal is just so wonderfully gentle and sweet. I had such a great time getting to know her and her precious family- husband Jackie and little Aspen. And Aspen... ah! Such a total dollbaby! I had a wonderful time and they got some really great shots. I can't wait to get to know you better, Katherine!
